A shooting has taken place on Kungsholmen in central Stockholm. Several shots have been fired in quick succession at a building. One person has been arrested.

The police received the alarm just after 11:30. According to information to TT, several shots have been fired at a building. According to several media outlets, the person shot through a window into a company premises.

One person appears to have sustained minor injuries from glass splinters, but I have no information about anyone needing medical attention, says Carina Skagerlind, the police's press spokesperson, to TT.

The police have set up cordons in the area.

We have a lot of resources still, to secure the crime scene, search for evidence and talk to witnesses. We will have a reassurance operation as we always do after such crimes. It's about being on site and answering questions from residents, says Skagerlind at 13:30.

The police have a theory about the motive.

Yes, it's clear that we do. We always work in parallel with intelligence and search for addresses and possible leads. But that's something I can't go into, says Skagerlind.

She doesn't want to comment further on the arrest, but says it took place in the vicinity of the shooting, just minutes after the alarm. For now, the crime classification is aggravated weapons offence, but it may change, she says.
