The police were alerted at 22:00 about a suspected shooting in Akalla, north-west Stockholm, near a fast-food restaurant.
We have not found anyone injured, says the police's press spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.
No one has been arrested or suspected of a crime yet, but a witness was taken in for questioning by the police.
The police wrote on their website at 23:00 that they had found traces of a shooting and cordoned off the area.
The incident is being classified as attempted murder and aggravated weapons offence, and an operation is underway in the area to find those involved.
