On DN Debatt writes SD's party leader Jimmie Åkesson and party secretary Mattias Bäckström Johansson that the Social Democrats have built up a comprehensive business complex around themselves over decades with direct ownership interests, financial ties and organizational networks between the party and a broad range of companies, organizations and movements.

As examples of movement-owned companies with historical ties to the party, Coop, Folksam, OKQ8, HSB, Riksbyggen, Fonus and Familjens Jurist are mentioned.

”The scope of these networks, and the consequences they have for the balance of power in Swedish democracy, have never been mapped in its entirety.”, writes the authors of the debate article and call for a ”new state public power investigation”.

”Since no other European country shows the same connection between a political party and the organization of the business community, it is high time for us to examine the social democratic business empire", they conclude.
