The alarm about a fire at a villa in central Kramfors was raised at 11.43 on Monday. The villa was already engulfed in flames, police wrote on their website.
A woman registered at the address has been reported missing. Police are investigating whether the person found dead in the villa is the missing woman. Her relatives have been informed.
The cause of the fire is not yet clear. A report of causing danger to the public through negligence will be filed, and a technical investigation of the scene will be carried out as soon as possible.
