A man in Helsingborg who shot his wife to death was initially charged with murder, but information that emerged during the trial led the prosecutor to change her mind. She is now seeking an eight-year prison sentence for manslaughter, reports SVT News Helsingborg.
Her wish was that someone else would do it for her, says prosecutor Carolina Diaz Bernal to SVT about the woman who was killed.
The prosecutor refers, among other things, to information from healthcare providers and relatives, which led her to change her mind. The woman had also expressed wishes about how, where, and when it should be done.
Defense attorney Pontus Peyron believes that the sentence value is significantly lower than eight years due to the special circumstances.
The woman was found dead in her home in a town in northwestern Skåne in January.
