A few days after Dominique Pelicot was arrested and it was revealed that he had drugged his wife Gisèle for years to rape her and invite other men to assault her, the police called his daughter Caroline Darian.
She saw pictures of herself that she didn't recognize, wearing underwear she had never seen before and in deep sleep. Although Dominique Pelicot denies having assaulted his daughter, she is certain that he subjected her to sexual abuse, she says in interviews with, among others, BBC and The Guardian.
But I have no evidence, she says.
The mother's abuse by at least 70 perpetrators was filmed, which led to at least 50 being convicted in one of France's most notable trials ever. Dominique Pelicot was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Caroline Darian, who has written a book about her experiences related to the case, hopes, on the other hand, that her father is never released.
He should die in prison, she says to BBC.
