Craving peaches grown near Japan's Fukushima, the site of the 2011 nuclear accident? Now's your chance, but only if you're willing to dig deep into your wallet. A box of three peaches is currently being sold at the luxury department store Harrods in London for £80, which is almost 1,100 kronor.

Before the earthquake and tsunami that caused severe damage to the Japanese nuclear power plant, the region was known for its cultivation of not only peaches but also fruits like grapes, cherries, and pears. However, farmers have faced significant challenges in recent years as consumers have been hesitant to buy fruit and vegetables from the area due to fears about the impact on their health.

The operator behind the nuclear power plant, Tepco (Tokyo Electric Power Company), has previously tested marketing products from the region in a similar manner, including in Thailand and the USA.
