Patti Scialfa is ill with bone marrow cancer. The American artist received the diagnosis of multiple myeloma six years ago, writes Aftonbladet, referring to a new documentary about Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band.
The 71-year-old Scialfa, who is married to Springsteen and has been a member of the band since 1984, says that the disease has made it more difficult to tour.
This affects my immune system, so I have to be careful about what I choose to do and where I choose to go. Now and then, I follow along to a concert or two and can sing a couple of songs on stage, and it's been so much fun, she says in the documentary.
Springsteen and Scialfa have been married since 1991 and have three children together. In addition to her career in E Street Band, Scialfa has released several solo albums.
