Swedes bought more online in October this year than last year, according to the trade organization Swedish Trade.

A large part of the increase is linked to foreign low-price actors. Nearly 600,000 Swedish consumers shopped in October from one of the Chinese platforms Temu and Shein.

Tougher competition

Swedish Trade notes that "competition is getting tougher". The share of turnover going to foreign companies has increased from 8 to 12 percent during the year.

"To create a fair and sustainable market, we must ensure that platform companies operate under the same rules and supervision as Swedish actors", says Per Ljungberg, innovation manager at Swedish Trade, in a press release.

Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson says that consumers have a great responsibility when they e-shop from foreign low-price chains.

Increased opportunities

Is it a problem that more and more Swedes are shopping from foreign low-price actors?

E-shoppers, whether it's Swedish or other, are good. It has increased the opportunity to reach products from all over the world. Then there are some companies that are aggressive and do not have fair conditions.

As consumers, we need to understand that so we do not support that, Say she.

We must not support that, the companies that are aggressive and do not have fair conditions.
