A man in his 60s has been shot in the leg in the Bäckby district of western Västerås.
The man was conscious when he was taken to hospital by ambulance. On the police website, his condition is described as unclear.
We have set up a cordon, there is currently no danger to the public. We see it as an isolated incident, says police spokesperson Stefan Larsson to TT.
The alarm was raised at around 17:30 on Tuesday.
The crime classification is currently gross weapons offense and gross assault. Among other things, a dog patrol and helicopter were used in the operation.
By 22:00, no one had been arrested on suspicion of the crime.
