According to the truck manufacturer, it is a smaller factory that develops and manufactures battery systems for heavy industry.
According to Northvolt, the function, which goes by the name "Systems industrial" and is now being sold, employs 300 people both in Stockholm and at the factory in Polish Gdansk.
Northvolt does not name the buyer in its press release, but writes that they have agreed that the transaction will include all necessary assets, contracts, and personnel for the business to continue without interruption.
The company writes further that the sale is part of the strategic review that is ongoing at Northvolt, where the company will return to its core business.
Northvolt has been in a reconstruction process at a court in Texas for a few months now.
