Trust is completely exhausted. He must resign, says Claes Nordmark (S), chairman of the municipalities in Norrbotten and municipal councilor in Boden, to SVT News Norrbotten.

The background is the decreasing catches of herring in the Bay of Bothnia and the Gulf of Bothnia, which has led to reduced production of sour herring and food shortage for salmon.

The EU Commission has previously advocated for a total ban on fishing for herring and herring in large parts of the Baltic Sea, but according to the municipalities in Norrbotten, the government and Peter Kullgren have missed all opportunities to save the herring and instead defended large-scale industrial fishing.

Rural Affairs Minister Peter Kullgren (KD) has no intention of meeting the 14 Norrbotten municipalities' demands for resignation.

I think they're doing it because the Social Democrats and the Green Party didn't do very well with their negotiations at the EU level, he says to SVT.
