The man who is said to be a relative of the woman who was shot to death has been linked by the police to a criminal network in northwestern Stockholm. He himself has previously been the target of a murder attempt and has also been prosecuted in a case involving a gang murder, but was acquitted in both the district court and the court of appeal.

Prosecutor Alexandra Bittner, who is leading the investigation, does not comment on the information, but says that they will investigate the case broadly.

When you initiate a preliminary investigation, you try to gather as much information as possible. Then you start from that and work your way forward. So we will look into whether there is any connection to gang criminality. We will also look into other possibilities, she says to TT.

No one has been arrested for the crime. The police have held interviews with several people and conducted a crime scene investigation, according to the police's press spokesperson Anders Bryngelsson

We are of course looking into possible relationships and whether this incident may be connected to any other incident, more than that I cannot say, he says.

The police received an alarm about the incident at 7 pm on Tuesday. However, it was not an alarm about a shooting, which is why they suspect that the murder occurred earlier in the day. According to Expressen, residents in the area heard bangs as early as the early afternoon.
