GDP growth was absent in euro countries during the fourth quarter, compared to the previous quarter. On an annual basis, the gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.9 percent, according to figures from Eurostat.
Economists had expected slightly better GDP development for the euro zone.
At the same time, the statistics show that unemployment in euro countries increased to 6.3 percent in December, up from 6.2 percent in November, according to revised figures.
