The situation in the German economy remains stagnant, at low levels, according to the monthly IFO index.
Confidence in the economy among business leaders rose marginally to 85.1, from 84.7 in December, which was slightly better than expected.
The index measuring forward-looking confidence, however, fell to 84.2, from 84.4 in December.
