That a new Switch from Nintendo would come out during the year was already known, but hard facts or pictures have been scarce.
Like its predecessor, it's about a portable unit that can be connected to a TV when needed. Physically, the Switch 2 is slightly larger than the current Switch, and thus also equipped with larger controllers. The only game that appears in the
Nintendo published is an unnamed "Mario Kart" title.The Switch 2 will also be backward compatible, so you can play your Switch games on the successor as well.
Nintendo says that more information will come on April 2.
Japanese Nintendo lowered its forecast for expected Switch sales in the fall, from 13.5 million to 12.5 million consoles by the end of the broken fiscal year in March 2025.
