Armand Duplantis won everything that could be won during the season – with the Olympic Games gold in Paris as a clear sign of the star's dominance.
Now the pole vaulter is getting another prize.
The star is awarded Uppsala Municipality's honorary medal.
"This year's honorary medal winners have through extraordinary achievements shown that Uppsala is a place where creativity, sports successes, and science not only thrive, but also make a real difference", says Klas-Herman Lundgren (S), chairman of the municipal council, in a press release.
The 24-year-old – who won gold at the indoor World Championship in Glasgow, European Championship gold in Rome, Olympic Games gold in Paris, and also broke the world record three times – is one of five people awarded honorary medals.
The ceremony will take place on November 8 at Uppsala Castle. The honorary medal has been awarded once a year since 1947.
