The weather continues to offer drama in the southern parts of the country. Over the weekend, rain similar to a cloudburst is expected in eastern and southern Götaland as well as on Gotland.
During the night towards Saturday, a low-pressure system is moving in from the south, and according to the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, which has issued a yellow warning, 30-60 millimeters of rain is expected, with large amounts falling in a short time. It will also blow strongly, and thunderstorms may occur.
According to the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute's meteorologists, it is difficult to determine where the heaviest rain showers will occur, with large local variations in rainfall amounts expected. Saturday's cloudburst also increases the risk of flooding in basements and stormwater systems.
Roads and viaducts may also be flooded, which will affect traffic in the affected areas.
