Private customers who have reserved and paid for whisky from the bankrupt Mackmyra are entitled to the stored whisky. However, a challenge arises. They do not have the right to the actual cask where the whisky is stored, writes the bankruptcy trustee in an update on the company's website.

"It is therefore necessary to find a practical solution to the problem", writes the bankruptcy trustee.

The news of Mackmyra's bankruptcy came last week. Currently, the company has around 4,500 casks that have been reserved by customers for approximately 15,000–30,000 kronor.
