Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a speech on Tuesday evening where he said he would ask his ministers to adopt an agreement on a ceasefire with Hezbollah. Less than an hour later, Israel carried out an air raid on a building in a lively business area in Beirut and Israel's military issued new evacuation warnings, which made the residents flee out onto the streets.
Syrian state media report that two border crossings to Lebanon were attacked by Israel shortly after the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah was announced.
Hezbollah also claims to have directed attacks against soldiers in northern Israel, right in the middle of the news about a ceasefire being imminent.
At least 24 people have been killed in the Israeli attacks on Lebanon on Tuesday, according to local authorities.
Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that Israel had carried out raids and clashed with "terrorists" in the region around the Litani River, which is considered to separate southern Lebanon from the rest of the country. Rockets, drones, launch sites, and storage facilities in the mountainous landscape were destroyed, according to Israel's military.
