One person, a 47-year-old man, has been confirmed dead after the attack, reports The Kyiv Independent hours after the nighttime attack on Zaporizhzhia. Among the injured is also a two-month-old baby, announced the local governor Ivan Federov on Thursday.

Housing has been damaged and there are reports of people trapped under rubble, according to Fedorov.

At the same time, the governor of the Kharkiv region announced that the evacuation of children and their caregivers will be expanded from several cities and smaller towns in the region. The reason is the Russian invasion forces' offensive. Moreover, Russian artillery bombardment has intensified.

"In total, 267 children and their families will be evacuated from 16 locations and taken to safe places", announced the regional governor on social media platforms.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to the world for increased support:

"We need increased sanctions against Russia, more air defense systems to defend our cities and more weapons for our warriors on the front lines."
