In a joint statement in connection with the UN General Assembly in New York, the three countries' ministers write that in order to stop the "dangerous escalation that is ongoing in the region, one must start by stopping Israel's attacks in Gaza".
Besides the meeting in New York, Iran's new president Masoud Pezeshkian and China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi also met, promising to support Iran's security against "external threats".
"China will continue to support Iran's protection of its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity", Wang said on Tuesday, according to China's Foreign Ministry.
Iran is an influential actor in the Middle East and supports armed groups in the region, including Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
