Ecuador has knocked out Mexico after a goalless match in the South American Championship, Copa América.
Mexico pushed hard in the last quarter. But Ecuador's goalkeeper Alexander Dominguez stood firm. In the 71st minute, he saved an attempt from Johán Vasquez, a goal chance just six minutes after Mexican Feyenoord attacker Santiago Gimenez hit the post.
A point was enough to secure a place in the quarterfinals, where Ecuador will now face Argentina.
