The rock group is donating 500,000 dollars, approximately 5.6 million kronor, through their foundation All within my hands, writes NME. The money goes to two different funds that support those affected. In a post on social media, Metallica summarized how many thousands are affected by the fires, and added:

"But numbers can't describe the extent of the anxiety when families' lives are turned upside down, and their livelihoods are destroyed".

More stars have already promised generous donations. Beyoncé is donating 28 million kronor to families who have become homeless due to the fires. Jamie Lee Curtis has donated over 11 million kronor, and so has Eva Longoria – who last year received 500 million from Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos and his partner Lauren Sánchez, for her work with entrepreneurship in Latin American groups.

Paris Hilton has donated just over one million to a crisis fund – and collected more money among her followers. Even actor Michael Douglas said he would make a donation through his father's foundation to the American Red Cross. In a post on social media, he promised to personally match the contribution.

A large, large number of people have lost their homes, and may have no insurance. Most of you are aware of this, so what are you doing about it? he asked his followers.
