Nearly 20 people have died in connection with heavy rainfall on the Indonesian island of Java.
The fatalities occurred when the downpours triggered a landslide in a mountainous area near the coastal town of Pekalongan. Mud, rocks, and trees were swept away as several rivers overflowed. People were dragged away by the water masses or buried under tons of mud, according to the authorities.
Several more people are missing and around ten have been taken to hospital, according to the police in the province of Central Java.
