In the interrogation, the children's mother tells that the man was anxious during the evening, writes Göteborgs-Posten. She then called the children's grandmother, who had been there before and whom she knew was good at calming the man down. During the phone call, the man attacked his wife with a knife.

When the man's mother-in-law arrived at the apartment, he also attacked her. She was injured so severely that she died.

The man himself does not remember the sequence of events, according to his lawyer Claes Dellborg.

Since the sentence will be life imprisonment, I assume we will appeal. But I want to emphasize in this context that this is an extremely tragic event for all those involved, he says to the newspaper.

The man will also have to pay damages to several people. Including the two children, 460,000 kronor each, and 160,000 kronor to their mother.
