When the horse pair Camilla Kvartoft and Leif GW Persson reunite on SVT, it's been six years since they made the successful program "Veckans brott", which was broadcast between 2010 and 2018.

The viewers will recognize segments such as unsolved crimes and "Ask Leif", but new for "Veckan" is that each episode will have a specific theme.

It will be about gang criminality and the police's work against it, but also about crime policy. We will also take up topics such as narcotics, prostitution, welfare crime, and economic crime, says Camilla Kvartoft.

The first episode is broadcast on Wednesday. Then they will take the pulse of the Swedish police after the major reorganization in 2015.

The idea then was that the police would become more visible in the field, get closer to citizens, and solve more crimes. We now see that the police have received increased funding and that there are more police employees, but they are solving fewer crimes.

In the studio, they will, among other things, receive a visit from the National Police Commissioner Petra Lundh, who will give her view on police work.

Before the premiere, Kvartoft says it feels "fun, but a little nervous".

It feels like we have high expectations to live up to, but it's going to be really fun to get started.
