If this is true, it's extremely serious. I'm thinking of the victims who are once again affected by his heinous crimes.

This shows that the overhaul we're working on is absolutely necessary. You shouldn't be released after two-thirds of the time. You should have longer sentences for rape crimes and if you have a high risk of reoffending, you shouldn't be released at all, says Kristersson.

The Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson also reacts to the information.

This is extremely disturbing. And it naturally makes many women feel anxious and fearful, this is not how it should be in Sweden.

The Sweden Democrats' party leader Jimmie Åkesson also reacts.

I think it's a total scandal. It's symptomatic of the Swedish justice system that a person who is so obviously dangerous and a notorious repeat offender can commit new crimes so soon.

He should never have been released again. We shouldn't have dangerous people roaming the streets.

An investigation has proposed a so-called security sentence for individuals deemed dangerous, where people with a risk of reoffending can be imprisoned for an indefinite period. A proposal that Magdalena Andersson has not taken a stance on.

Sweden should be a safe society, but also a just one. These issues need to be worked on further to find a good way forward. But it's clear that many are upset and worried today, and I'm one of them.
