Kamala Harris joins the chorus of tributes to the late Quincy Jones. In a post on social media, the American Vice President and presidential candidate has posted a private photo of herself and the legendary music producer.
"Quincy Jones was a pioneer", Harris writes in the post. "As a composer, creator of music arrangements, record and film producer, he made art that brought joy to millions of people."
Kamala Harris was a personal friend of Quincy Jones and highlights how generous, selfless, and kind he was – but also lifts Jones' importance as an activist and role model.
"As an activist, he fought for civil and human rights. As a role model, he stood for inspiration and mentorship, especially for young black people in the music industry".
