I will be around 87 years old at the farewell party, but I said yes, says the American actor.

John Lithgow is the first actor's name to be publicly announced for the series, which has been shrouded in great secrecy. The idea is that it will start broadcasting late 2026 or early 2027, and filming begins this summer at Warner Bros studio in England.

John Lithgow has in recent years made himself known from films and series such as the Oscar-nominated "Konklaven", "The old man", "Killers of the flower moon" and "Interstellar". He says himself that he was completely surprised when he was asked to play Professor Dumbledore.

It was not an easy decision, as it will define me in the last chapter of my life, I'm afraid. But I'm very excited, he says.
