The Swedish Equestrian Federation's disciplinary committee's investigation into the elite rider who was reported to the police in the spring on suspicion of animal abuse has been dropped since the statute of limitations has expired, reports SVT.
This opens up the possibility for the rider to compete internationally again, according to SVT. However, the rider will still be suspended from the Swedish national team.
This is a matter of trust, an overall assessment that we make. Then our assessment is that the trust is not there in a way that it can be about being part of a national team, says the Swedish Equestrian Federation's Secretary General Johan Fyrberg to SVT.
Just over a month ago, the police dropped the preliminary investigation against the rider after questioning.
