The funds are allocated in the state budget for 2025 and the grants can be awarded for efforts in eight areas. For example, to create more continuity in healthcare with a fixed doctor contact, to increase accessibility for patients and to work preventively and health-promoting.

The government's transformation of healthcare to what is called "good and close care" aims, among other things, to invest in primary care and create more places in specialized care.

The government's total budget for healthcare for 2025 amounts to around 18 billion kronor.
