The man had been suspended for two months from the private home care company Attendo, where he worked. This is shown by an investigation of the case that the municipality has conducted and now sent to the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (Ivo).

Neither the woman, whom the man was accused of assaulting, nor her relatives wanted to report the incident to the police, according to a representative of Attendo who has spoken to UNT.

When the municipality took over Attendo's assignment in Uppsala in 2022, the man applied for a job through the municipality instead – and got it. According to UNT, no background check was made with the previous employer. In the following years, the man was accused of new assaults against several women, including a rape.

It is incredibly serious if people who have committed crimes get into our operations, says Rasmus Sundström, department head of the municipal home care, to the newspaper.

The man has been dismissed from the municipality's home care.
