Germany is offering to deploy the Patriot air defense system in NATO neighbor Poland, announces the Defense Ministry in Berlin.

The deployment would take place in January, to protect supply chains to war-torn Ukraine.

Defense Minister Boris Pistorius says the purpose is to help "protect the supply of vehicles, weapons, and ammunition that Ukraine is in critical need of to defend itself against the brutal Russian attacks that are taking place in violation of international law".
