The director Gabriela Pichler is one of six people awarded Stenastiftelsen's cultural scholarship of 300,000 kronor.
Pichler had her breakthrough as a director with her debut film "Eat Sleep Die", which received four Guldbaggar in 2013. Her latest TV series "Painkiller" was shown on SVT last winter.
Six different cultural practitioners from western Sweden will receive a prize for their art when Sten A Olsson's cultural scholarship is awarded in Gothenburg. This year's scholarship recipients are, in addition to Pichler, also the actress Karin de Frumerie, the artist Daniel Lemma, the artists Emelie Röndahl and Lena Trapp, as well as Hannes Öberg, opera singer, the foundation announces in a press release.
Sten A Olsson's foundation for research and culture was established in 1996 when shipowner Sten A Olsson turned 80. The purpose is to provide support for cultural and research activities in western Sweden and Gothenburg.
