Foxtrot top charged with aggravated drug offense

For over a year, the Foxtrot leader has been detained in Serbia. Now the man is being prosecuted, suspected of, among other things, extremely serious narcotics offenses and serious weapons offenses – after a lengthy extradition process. It has been a tough job to get to this prosecution, says prosecutor Johanna Kolga to TT.

The man is in his 40s and has been identified as a high-ranking figure within the Foxtrot network. He is suspected of having controlled a large-scale drug trade in Sweden from abroad.

Johanna Kolga has previously described him as a man with "enormous violent capital and enormous financial resources".

He has controlled much of the drug market and arms market in Sweden, she says.

The indictment was filed with the Södertälje District Court on Friday.

"A puzzle"

In total, there are 13 counts, including 10 cases of aggravated drug offenses, aggravated weapons offenses, and violations of the law on flammable and explosive goods.

Since it involves large quantities of drugs, the indictment also includes a case of extremely aggravated drug offenses.

It's a comprehensive investigation, and they're hiding behind encrypted communication services. So it's a puzzle, and we've solved it, says Johanna Kolga.

Extradited in December

The man was arrested in connection with a police operation in Serbia in the fall of 2023. However, getting him extradited to Sweden has been a protracted process marked by setbacks.

Prosecutor Johanna Kolga has, among other things, accused the man of bribing and threatening lawyers to avoid appearing in court hearings in order to delay them.

Finally, after over a year, the man was extradited to Sweden on December 3, 2024.

It's been hard work to get to this indictment. But it's a success to be able to prosecute individuals who are sitting abroad and controlling crime in Sweden, says Johanna Kolga.
