Doping tests revealed five Olympic Games athletes in Paris. Moreover, 40 athletes were caught in doping controls before the summer games.
The anti-doping organization Ita, which was responsible for the tests before and during the games in Paris, reports that they took 6,130 samples during the Olympic Games from 4,150 different athletes. And nearly 90 percent of the athletes were tested at least once before the Olympic Games.
Of the five positive cases during the Olympic Games, two were from judo and one each from athletics, swimming, and boxing. The substances they were caught for were anabolic steroids and diuretics (urine-stimulating agents). The athletes came from Afghanistan, Bolivia, Congo-Kinshasa, Iraq, and Nigeria.
