The shootings occurred on September 26 and 27 last year.
First, a man was shot in his villa in Åkersberga north of Stockholm. In connection with this, a fire was also started in his home. The man suffered severe injuries but managed to put out the fire and survived.
Registered at the address
The man had no connection to gang crime, but a person who can be linked to gang crime was registered at his address. However, there is nothing to suggest that the two knew each other.
The day after, a group of men who were grilling late in the evening in a courtyard in Jordbro south of Stockholm were shot at. A 23-year-old man was hit by the shots and died, and another person was seriously injured.
The victims are believed to have been randomly selected.
We will argue that someone wanted to shoot anyone, indiscriminately. These people have simply been affected by it, says Åsa Valter.
The seven people being prosecuted, five men and two women, are said to have acted on behalf of someone else. The shootings are believed to be part of the internal conflict within the Foxtrot network that raged last fall.
We can see that people involved in this have connections to the Foxtrot network, says Valter.
The getaway car crashed
The shots in Jordbro came from a car - and during the escape, the perpetrators crashed into a row house.
A car with the same description was also seen at the shooting in Åkersberga, which is why the two events could be quickly linked. In the car, automatic weapons and a phone were found. The traces from there led to the quick arrest of several people.
The prosecutor has also brought a charge against a person who was under 15 years old at the time of the incident. He is suspected of involvement in the event in Åkersberga.
What we claim is that he was involved in the shooting and was involved in starting the fire, says Åsa Valter.
Among those charged with murder is also a young right-wing extremist who was active in the Nazi Nordic Resistance Movement (NMR). Exactly how he ended up in the gang environment is not something the investigation has focused on, says Åsa Valter.
Seven people, five men and two women, are being prosecuted for their involvement in the shootings in Åkersberga and Jordbro on September 26 and 27 last year.
Two 23-year-old men are being charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, gross weapons offenses in two cases, and arson. Two men, 20 and 22 years old, and a 22-year-old woman are being charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
A 21-year-old man is being charged with accessory to murder and two counts of accessory to attempted murder. A 24-year-old woman is being charged with gross weapons offenses and gross protection of a criminal.
