On Monday, Crown Princess Victoria began her officer training along with other cadets.

The Crown Princess is undergoing special officer training, and the subject of the first lecture was military science. She has completed several training programs within the Defense Forces previously and the aim now is to deepen her knowledge in preparation for her future role as head of state.

In a statement, she says she looks forward to continuing her military education at the Defense University.

"My ambition is now to devote all my energy to officer training in order to represent Sweden and the Defense Forces in the best possible way in the future."

The special officer training is aimed at individuals with at least 180 university credits. After a security clearance, one is employed as an officer and begins the training, which lasts 20-25 months, depending on the individual's prior military experience.

The training includes both theory and practice and is largely conducted in conjunction with the officer program at the Military Academy Karlberg.
