The baby food manufacturer Semper is fined for workplace safety breaches and must pay 150,000 kronor in corporate fines after an employee had a fingertip cut off on the job, reports Nya Lidköpings-tidningen.
The accident occurred in Götene in 2022 when the employee was to replace a spare part on a machine that distributed milk powder. The machine was only partially shut off and gave him a blow to his fingers with "a propeller with razor blades" which caused him to lose the fingertip on his right index finger.
According to the Prosecution Authority, Semper's risk assessment for the task was inadequate and also failed to provide the employee with correct information for the work equipment.
