Monday's Guldbagge gala may become a pure victory march for Filip and Fredrik, whose film "The Last Journey" not only became last year's most watched Swedish film at the cinema but also won over the critics.
The documentary about how Filip Hammar tries to recreate his childhood dream vacations for his father Lars in France is nominated in five categories, including Best Film and Direction, as well as the Guldbagge Audience Award.
Filip and Fredrik are expected to attend the Guldbagge gala, as well as Lars Hammar with his wife Tiina. However, the fires in Los Angeles, where Filip Hammar has lived for many years, may disrupt the plans.
No Personal Guldbagge
Their previous film "The Cake General" received two awards, but personally, Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson have never received a Guldbagge. Now it may be time.
The films with the most nominations ahead of the gala are "Hypnosis" and "The Swedish Torpedo" with eight each, one more than "Passage", directed by Guldbagge favorite Levan Akin, whose latest film "And then we danced" received four awards five years ago.
Among the favorite actors tipped for the Guldbagge are, among others, Bianca Kronlöf, who has been praised for her performance in the corona drama "As Long as the Heart Beats".
Gustafsson's Second?
Robert Gustafsson may also be awarded his second Guldbagge, for his role as Sickan in "Jönssonligan kommer tillbaka". He received the award 20 years ago for Killinggänget's film "Four Shades of Brown".
The Guldbagge gala is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, and therefore, it is expected to be extra festive. The award ceremony at Cirkus in Stockholm will be broadcast live on SVT1 starting at 8 pm, hosted by Shima Niavarani.
But already at 6:30 pm, the pre-gala will be shown on SVT Play, where some of the more obscure awards will be presented.
