The damage to the apartment doors is extensive, and several windows have been destroyed, reports P4 Malmöhus. In the morning, the rescue service is on site and is making temporary repairs so that it will be possible to live in the apartments – but hotel nights may become necessary.
The pressure wave has gone both up and down and has caused extensive damage to walls, windows, doors, and ceilings, says Jonas Hellsten, the salvage leader, to the channel.
He believes that some people will not be able to stay.
I think some people won't be able to do it, because there are no doors to the apartment.
If the residents have home insurance, it will cover the hotel costs. Otherwise, it may become necessary to stay with relatives or acquaintances, says Jonas Hellsten.
Several people alerted the police just before 4 am about a loud bang.
There are relatively large material damages, but no personal injuries, says Magnus Lefèvre, the duty officer at the police.
By 7 am, the national bomb squad and the police technicians had left the scene. What exploded is still unclear.
A more comprehensive analysis will be conducted later, says Sara Andersson, the police spokesperson.
The residents of the house were asked to stay in their apartments while the police worked on the scene, which was completed during the Saturday morning.
The incident is classified as gross general vandalism. No one is suspected or arrested in the case. The police are now working on mapping and investigating whether there is a threat against someone at the address.
That's something we're working on during the day. We're working on interviews with residents to find out if there's any background, says Sara Andersson.
