Hygiene and health company Essity – a leading manufacturer of, among other things, toilet paper and diapers – reports a profit before tax of 4.4 billion kronor for the third quarter of the year. This is a doubling of the profit for the corresponding quarter last year, which was 2.2 billion.
The adjusted operating result of 4.8 billion was in line with expectations, according to Bloomberg's compilation of analyst forecasts.
Net sales for the third quarter decreased by 2 percent to 36.3 billion.
"All business areas contributed to the Group's good profitability. The result was positively affected by the scale benefits we have achieved through higher volumes," says CEO Magnus Groth in a comment in the report.
