A woman in her 70s died last summer after colliding with a police car on emergency response. Now, the preliminary investigation against the police is being reopened, reports SVT News Örebro.
The accident occurred at an intersection in central Örebro at the end of July. The police officer who drove the police car has been investigated on suspicion of manslaughter and reckless driving.
The preliminary investigation was dropped due to lack of evidence – but is now being reopened.
"Upon reviewing the case, I believe the decision basis is insufficient," writes Chief Prosecutor Mikael Björk, at the Swedish Prosecution Authority's development center, in the decision.
