In total, 710 infants who died before their one-year birthday are named, report several media outlets. Many of them were both born and died during the war.

In total, 11,355 dead children are listed in the several hundred-page long document.

The document, published via the Health Department's Telegram channel, accounts for Palestinians killed between October 7 and August 31. It contains names, ages, genders, and ID numbers of the deceased victims that the authorities have been able to identify so far.

According to the Health Department in Hamas-ruled Gaza, a total of over 42,000 Palestinians, 16,700 of them children, have been killed as a result of Israel's warfare since October. The outbreak of war followed a large-scale attack by terrorist-stamped Hamas against Israel on October 7.

The figures from the department are often questioned from an Israeli perspective, but are reported by, among others, the UN and WHO, and have previously shown to be relatively close to the truth after earlier wars in Gaza. International organizations have repeatedly sounded the alarm about the large number of dead children in the Gaza war.

Gaza has become a graveyard for thousands of children, said Unicef's spokesperson James Elder already at the end of October.
