A doctor in Norrbotten has been reported to the authorities by the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (Ivo) for false certification after prescribing a narcotic-classified medication to a relative with drug addiction.
Over a period of one year, the doctor prescribed 3,800 narcotic-classified tablets to a relative with drug addiction. The person had been convicted of drug offenses and lived with a protected identity due to a threat, writes Piteå-Tidningen.
According to the doctor, the relative could not have a fixed healthcare contact due to the threat.
