Denmark's largest Christmas tree has fallen. The 26-meter tree was erected at a shopping center in Kolding on Wednesday but broke and fell on Friday evening.
It's a shame, as the tree is supposed to be a symbol of Christmas joy. But I'm most glad that no one was injured, says Carsten Lindblad, center manager in Kolding.
Exactly what happened to the tree and how it could fall over is not clear. According to Lindblad, a thorough job had been done to put up the tree, including special support foundations.
The tree is broken about 30 centimeters above the base and then fell over, says Carsten Lindblad.
On Saturday, workers were on site to cut up the intended Christmas tree.
