The incident occurred in the spring when the two men, 27 and 30 years old, broke into an apartment in Copenhagen. Once inside the apartment, they came across a picnic basket – which contained at least twelve kilos of cocaine. With the basket in high spirits, the duo fled in a Peugeot. But the escape was short-lived, half an hour later the vehicle was stopped by the police.
The 27-year-old was arrested on the spot, the 30-year-old was arrested later in July. On Tuesday, the court proceedings will begin, where the two men are expected to admit to the break-in and drug possession.
It is not known how the two thieves knew that the picnic basket was full of cocaine and was in the apartment.
