Croatia is recommending its citizens to postpone or cancel non-essential trips to neighboring country Serbia, referring to Serbia having expelled five Croatian women. Serbia claims security risks in the case of the women.
Croatia's Foreign Ministry labels the expulsions as "inappropriate and unfounded" and Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman sent a formal protest to Serbia over the women being "deprived of their liberty".
The women participated in a gathering organized by an organization supported by an Austrian bank foundation.
Serbia has previously accused Croats of participating in protests against the Serbian government, which has a strong nationalist orientation.
