A person has been convicted of gross weapons offense, without the police finding the weapon itself, reports Ekot.
The District Court and the Court of Appeal believe that a film on the man's mobile phone, where he handles a converted starting pistol, is sufficient evidence of possession.
The man is sentenced to four years and ten months in prison for gross weapons offense and gross narcotics offense. He has admitted to narcotics offense of normal degree, but denies the weapons offense.
CORRECTED: In an earlier version of the text, it was stated that this was the first time someone had been convicted of gross weapons offense without the weapon being found. This is not true, it has happened on previous occasions. For example, in Helsingborg a couple of years ago.
